Where Can You Learn Internet Marketing Terminology?

One thing that I experienced when I first got started in internet marketing back in 2009 was that it took me a long time to figure out the terminology being used in the forums and newsletters. I would try to read as many posts and comments as I could in order to pick up information, but sometimes it took me forever to figure things out. Fortunately there are resources available now that you can use for free to learn some very useful terminology to help bring you up to speed. One very useful website is called Affilorama, by Mark Ling. The site does require you to register, but once you do there is an enormous amount of free information to absorb there, especially the terminology page. Check out the Affiliate Marketing Glossary. They also offer great membership prices for their services when you are ready, to look into those.

Another really great place to gain a boat load of information is CopyBlogger.com. If you are looking for overall basic marketing training for free, check out their email series. It's free once you sign up to receive their emails, but it is totally worth signing up for the information. Their entire site is jammed full of useful information that can help you stay on top of what is going on in internet marketing. I highly recommend this site for every marketer.

If you are just getting started with working for yourself online, You should read as much information as you can before you invest in any product to make money. Give yourself some time to figure out what you want to try out before you waste money on a product that you have no idea what it does. The last place I am going to mention is the forum that I used to learn most of what I needed to get started. The Warrior Forum. Go hang out in the forums and get started reading as much free information as you can.
Until next time, happy reading!

Don't Become An Online Scam Victim

With the economy being so bad in so many countries, it is no wonder that people are searching for ways to earn money in any way possible. Whether working from home part time, or setting yourself up to work online full-time, there are reported to be many different ways to earn money online. Most internet opportunities are service oriented types of jobs, but there are some very legitimate income opportunities that are more passive. That being said, the internet is drowning in money making scams that promise to make people massive amounts of money. When in reality, the only person who makes the money is the person selling the product.
With a little bit of education you can teach yourself to spot the scams from a mile away. As well as determining what is a scam or not, you will be start to notice that most of the scams are being sold by the same people. Once you know who is behind the scam you will be able to avoid them all together.  Let me give you some pointers so that if you find a product that you are interested in you will know what to do BEFORE you invest in the product. A little research goes a long way online.

Research Tips - If you find yourself on a sales page and are considering buying a product, do this before you purchase every time to save yourself some grief.
  1. While you have the sale page opened, open another tab in your browser. Go to Google and simply Google the name of the person who created or is selling the product.
  2. You want to look for reviews about them or the product you are looking to buy. Make sure to include any YouTube video reviews so you can get a full range of info about them or the product.
  3. Look for pages from The Better Business Bureau or any other consumer reports site to see if there are any complaints. Read the complaints to see what they were. Just having complaints doesn't make someone bad, it may have been something trivial or irrelevant, so read it.
  4. You should also read every word of the sales page. There are things that you need to look for in order to protect yourself. Always look for a guarantee. If they have no guarantee then you have no recourse should something go wrong. Not every guarantee needs to be a "Money Back" guarantee. They can guarantee to help make you money, or help you get started, or even guarantee to teach you to do something new. Read and understand the guarantee.
  5. Determine how they are selling it. Are they using PayPal, or Clickbank, or even JVZoo? If they use a reputable sales method you might have more luck if something goes wrong.
  6. Check for support. Does the sales page have a support link at the bottom? Check it out. Is there an email address for support? It may go to a zendesk address, if it does then they have set up customer support and should be easy to contact if need be.
  7. Give yourself 24 hours to consider the offer. You should never allow yourself to be in a position where you are being rushed into making a purchase. If the offer is so good, it should still be there tomorrow. If you might miss out on a really killer deal by waiting 24 hours then you just miss it. Believe me, another offer WILL come along!
By simply taking the time to do a little research on the product and creator or seller, you really will make better choices on money making products.  Unless you really know and trust the marketer who is sending you the offer, you really should research every product offer. Remember, if something seems like it is far too good to be true, chances are that it really is too good to be true and you are about to be scammed. Stay Focused. See you in the next post.
